Included in those 24 wins by KO is his 1981 victory over Ken Norton which set the record for quickest knockout in a main event in Madison Square Garden by taking a mere 54 seconds. Cooney’s next fight was his famous battle for the Heavyweight Championship against Larry Holmes in 1982. Despite a valiant effort Cooney would fall to Holmes in the bout. The battle was one of the biggest closed-circuit/pay-per-view productions in history and was broadcast worldwide. Gerry Cooney signed this photograph at “The Philly Show” on December 3, 2017.
